I'm an author, creative writing instructor, mother, public speaker and musician. My first book Petal Pusher, a memoir, was published in 2007.
For the past few years I've taught memoir writing courses and workshops and "college entrance essay boot camp" at
the Loft literary center and tutored students privately with their college entrance essays.
I became a mother in 1998, meaning I'm a mom to a teenager so I can't go on about the endless gifts brought to me from both my son and parenting.
I received an MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Minnesota in 2004.
Back in the so-called day I played guitar and sang in the Minneapolis based all-women indy rock band Zuzu's Petals.
I grew up in Madison, Wisconsin. I'm currently writing at least two books.
I'm the co-curator of MORNINGSIDE AFTER DARK, a live winterlong storytelling and music series.
